March Club Meeting at Noble Savage Brewing Co.

Thank You Noble Savage Brewing Co (Glen Cove) for hosting our March Club meeting! Special Thanks to Frank and Lauren for holding down the taps, serving awesome beer and providing a safe socially distanced place for us to meet. While the attendance was limited due to pandemic capacity restrictions, everyone enjoyed the evening.

We caught up on some of the members’ progress with their ’45 Challenge’ recipes—an attempt to create a winning homebrew recipe that can earn a score of 45+ in a BJCP sanctioned homebrew competition. [No easy feat!]

A few of members dropped off entries to the Spring Club Competition, with the top three entries getting a chance to have their recipe brewed at South Shore Craft Brewery, joining John DiSpirito’s Belgian Blonde in South Shore’s Homebrew Excellence Series of special releases.

The Primary Round entries of the Last Brewer Standing: Clone Wars competition were collected at the meeting, as well. 24 Entrants were split up into pairs, assigned commercial beers and challenged to recreate the commercial recipe in a homebrewed example. Winners of each paring move onto the Secondary Round in June.
